Google AdWords Conversion Optimizer becomes “Optimize for Conversions”
On Google’s Inside AdWords Blog they announced that they will me migrating all AdWords campaigns using either Conversion Optimizer or Enhanced CPC to Optimize for Conversions. They will start this migration in february 2012.
Google says Optimize for Conversions will increase conversions with 5% on average compared to using the old settings. Google also added:
To ensure that your campaign settings are also in line with your conversion goals, we plan to migrate existing campaigns using Conversion Optimizer or Enhanced CPC with “Optimize for clicks” ad rotation to “Optimize for conversions” ad rotation.
For those who are not well known with Conversion Optimizer or Optimize for Conversions, here is a quick explanation.
The Conversion Optimizer is an AdWords feature that uses your AdWords Conversion Tracking data to get you more conversions at a lower cost. It optimizes your placement in each ad auction to avoid unprofitable clicks and gets you as many profitable clicks as possible. When you select Conversion Optimizer, we’ll automatically set your ad rotation to “optimize for conversions,” if it is currently set to “optimize for clicks.”
